About Us

Canine Solutions is a state-of-the-art pet resort, nestled in a peaceful valley of southern Middle Tennessee, where fresh air, wildflowers, and rolling hills are standard. Our pet resort offers full service pet care within our custom designed facility. Our 14 acre campus provides the finest lodging with customizable playfields, as well as wooded walking trails. Our services include pet lodging, grooming salon, and obedience training.

Established in 2001, Canine Solutions is the oldest and most experienced pet resort in Lawrence and Giles county. As compassionate, experienced animal lovers, our goal is to be your pet’s home away from home. We look to provide a healthy atmosphere that promotes good animal behavior. We know how important our animal friends are and we love them as much as you!

ABOUT THE OWNER

Candace Malone

Owner & Certified Professional Trainer

Candace brings over two decades of hands-on experience to the backbone of Canine Solutions. A 1998 graduate of West Virginia Canine College, she founded Canine Solutions in 2001 with a clear mission: to create a safe, respectful, and effective training environment for dogs and their people. She also earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Martin Methodist College in 2006. Candace is married to Jeremiah, and together they have two children.

Candace’s passion for canine behavior led her to pursue continuing education through respected organizations including the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the Pet Care Service Association (PCSA). She has also trained with Paws With a Cause, a nonprofit in Wayland, Michigan, known for its life changing work with assistance dogs. Her experience includes specialized training in both narcotic detection and Schutzhund, adding layers of depth to her already well rounded expertise.

Over the years Candace has had the privilege of continuing her education by attending seminars and learning directly from some of the nation’s most respected dog trainers, including dog trainer and television personality, Cesar Millan, Ian Dunbar, the founder of the APDT, and Victoria Stilwell, best known for her hit show It’s Me or the Dog on Animal Planet.

Today, Candace continues to lead with the same dedication and heart that inspired her to start this journey. Whether she’s helping a first time puppy owner or working with advanced training clients, her goal remains the same: to strengthen the bond between dogs and the humans who love them.

Faith

General Manager

With an executive leadership background at a fortune 500 company and a heart for animals, Faith brings a rare blend of leadership, operational expertise, and genuine compassion to her role as General Manager at Canine Solutions.

Before joining the pet care industry, Faith served as Vice President of Operations and Merchandising where she led large teams and complex business strategies across the U.S. and abroad. Her sharp attention to detail, high standards, and love of structure make her a natural fit for overseeing the daily operations at Canine Solutions.

Faith’s journey into pet care began when she took a role at a veterinary clinic and quickly discovered how deeply rewarding it was to work with animals. Now in her fifth year in the industry, she’s found her second career and a true calling.

Her bond with animals goes back to childhood, from wandering into a herd of wild horses as a toddler to growing up with a loyal Doberman named Windsong who she proudly called her sister. Today she shares her home with three beloved dogs: Roscoe, GiGi, Chaplin.

Faith believes dogs have a unique ability to love us without judgment and as a result they remind us how to do the same. Her leadership ensures that every dog at Canine Solutions is treated with that exceptional spirit of care and respect.

David

Trainer

David’s career with working dogs spans over three decades and is rooted in a deep commitment to purpose driven training. He received a Bachelors in Biology from Tennessee Tech and a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. He began in 1994 with his first tracking dog, which he actively worked with on the job until 1996.

His passion for the field led him to complete an intensive 11 week wildlife K-9 detection and tracking school in 2007, where his canine partner was trained to locate wildlife, firearms, human scent, and to track with precision. That same dog was later certified in PKC police tracking.

In 2013, David retired his first K-9 and returned for a second round of wildlife K-9 training. He worked alongside that dog until his retirement from fieldwork in 2023. Throughout those years, he maintained rigorous continuing education.

David transitioned into hospital security and completed a six week police K-9 school. He then returned to the hospital with an explosive detection and apprehension K-9, working as a team for eight months before joining Canine Solutions as a professional dog trainer.

David’s approach is grounded in real world experience and an unwavering belief in the capabilities of working dogs. At Canine Solutions, he brings that same focus to every client he works with.
